2020 BFA Thesis: The Decay of Landscapes
Seeing the decay of my home drove me to confront its attackers. The works are conceived from scientific research journals discussing the affects humanity has had on Ohio and the surrounding Midwestern states. The three pieces all portray a different perspective: The Birds I-IV show wildlife, This is Beautiful and It's Dying represents plant-life, and My Regrets Follow You to the Grave depict humanity. Yet, all these artworks inform one another, the three pieces when shown together create a cohesive picture on how humanity's actions are affecting wildlife and just how devastating it is today and regretfully, tomorrow.
